Carramar

Carramar is a rapidly developing residential area. Carramar is bounded by Flynn Drive in the north, the suburb of Banksia Grove and Collanda Circuit in the east, Joondalup Drive in the south and Wanneroo Road in the west. Carramar is named from an Aboriginal word meaning “shade of trees”.

Development of the area dates primarily from the early 1990s. Rapid growth took place from 1991, with the population doubling between 2001 and 2006, a result of a large number of new dwellings being added to the area.

Major features of the area include Carramar Golf Course, Carramar Community Centre and one school.
